Exchange of expertise on geothermal energy - Fraunhofer IEG visits WKT
Together with the SME and Business Association of the Ennepe-Ruhr district (MIT), WKT organised an expert exchange on geothermal energy this week. The main guest of the evening was Prof Dr Bracke (Director of the Fraunhofer IEG in Bochum). The Fraunhofer Institute IEG has been working intensively on energy infrastructures and geothermal energy for many years. Prof Bracke substantiated with figures and concrete examples that geothermal energy offers considerable potential for the heat transition and thus also for Germany as an industrial location. Local district heating networks will be an important part of our future heat supply. We at the WKT were very pleased with the intensive dialogue - good cooperation between science, industry and politics will be the key to future success.
